Kirk Bramwith is a village about 3 miles north-west of Hatfield, sandwiched between the old River Don and the New Junction Canal.

These mouse carvings generally indicate the work of the famous furnitue maker "Mouseman" Robert Thompson of Kilburn in Yorkshire, who died in 1955.
